A Resolution for A Year of More

A Resolution for A Year of More

New Years is almost here!

I am so stinking excited. New Years is my favorite time of the year.

I love the possibilities that come with a fresh year. Getting to start over and have a new chance to create a life I'm in love with. There's just something so exciting and magical about getting a new start.

And then there's the resolutions!

I love making New Years resolutions.

Minimalism for the Highly Sensitive

Minimalism for the Highly Sensitive

It wasn't until recently that I discovered I'm a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).

Ok, so I knew I was very sensitive, but I didn't know it was a thing. I had always just thought something was wrong with me.

If you're highly sensitive, too, then you know as well as I do that life can get overwhelming fast. But minimalism has been a huge help in my life in keeping down the overwhelm and allowing me to better cope with my sensitivities.

I believe, for the highly sensitive, minimalism is a must. Here's why.

What It Means To Be Highly Sensitive

What It Means To Be Highly Sensitive

Some people over-think things, but I think you over-feel things.

That's what a college friend said to me one day. The truth of it hit me hard at the time, I thought maybe I was broken or just over-reacting about everything.

I didn't realize yet what a beautiful thing it is to be sensitive.

Living as a highly sensitive person has its challenges, but it is a beautiful experience.

Are you trying to figure out of you're a HSP? Or are you just curious about what that actually means? Here are some characteristics of the highly sensitive and how they play out in my life.

Signs Your 9-5 Is Soul Crushing

Signs Your 9-5 Is Soul Crushing

I recently was blessed with the opportunity to leave a job that I often describe as soul crushing. It was often difficult to explain to people the enormous weight that working there put on me. Because from the outside, it just looked like any other job that had tough times. Actually, from the outside, it looked like I had the best job ever.

(Looks can be deceiving.)

If you're in a bad work environment, you just know. It's something you don't really realize until you're there. But if I could have seen the signs of my job being soul crushing, I would have made an effort to get out sooner. Sometimes we don't realize how detrimental to our health and lives a poor work situation can be until it's too late.

The Five Different Types of Self-Care

The Five Different Types of Self-Care

Self-care is a big deal right now. A really big deal. Every day, more and more people are realizing the importance of taking time for themselves. With the already overabundance of information out there, I'm sure you already know and understand the importance of finding time to de-stress. But, while taking time out of your schedule to take care of yourself is so important, it's also important that you're getting the right kind of self-care.

Moving as a Minimalist

Moving as a Minimalist

The past six weeks have been absolutely overwhelming. I've barely had a chance to sit down and breathe. Needless to say, I am exhausted. Through a series of absolutely unbelievable circumstances, the Mountain Man and I were able to move back to his home town. I was so excited and really couldn't wait to get packing. And I was so sure that this would be the easiest move either of us would ever make, since I've been downsizing for the past 2 years.

I was so wrong... well, partly.
